The Dollhouse Consignment Boutique started as Lara Spencer’s wonderful dream in 2006 in Ketchum, Idaho.Lara has had over 20 years experience in consignment retail and fashion styling. Fashion and service are her passions. Her mission in 2006 was to create a place for women of all ages, shapes, and size to have a comfortable but unique boutique that was a fashionable yet affordable place to shop. At the same time, The Dollhouse was created to be a boutique that served it’s community by helping the local women make money through consignment, teaching the value of recycling, and allowing its Dolls to make donations to charity. The dream was to invite not just shopping, but a full package shopping and inspirational experience. Lara hoped the women and girls would come to The Dollhouse to share, care and grow together through the experience of coming into the positive community minded fashion based world of The Dollhouse.
Six years, two locations in Ketchum, a third in Hailey, and with thousands of Dolls who have shared dreams, experience, strength, hope, love and of course fabulous fashion finds, we arrive at 2012. Mission accomplished.
We are also very proud and grateful in this year to have won “Best in the Valley”, (that’s a gold medal y’all), in the new category of consignment shops in the prestigious Sun Valley guide. We are the first recipients of this award as voted on by the readers of the Magazine.
A new chapter now begins in Hailey, Idaho. The Flagship store of The Dollhouse Consignment Boutique is Lara’s focus. The Dollhouse will have one amazing location in Hailey with manager Rachel W. Lee a native of Hailey and owner Lara both on site. Consignments will be processed faster, we will have extended business hours, a new beautifully designed and renovated location. We also have more availability for specialty services.
All technical operations of The Dollhouse will remain the same, including check payouts, store credits– and clothing pick-ups, we will just do it in Hailey. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
The Dollhouses mission remains the same, we’re just going to reach more people and create the most dynamic shopping experience in the valley. Let inspiration unfold, more stories be told by the Dolls, both original and new who have helped make the Dollhouse the success it is today. Be bold, be beautiful, and live out loud.
